HPE Synergy 12000 Frame
A single intelligent physical infrastructure that combines compute, storage, and fabric

Current Status

Is the HPE Synergy 12000 Frame still available?

Yes — the HPE Synergy 12000 Frame is a current, actively sold product and remains the foundation of HPE's composable, software-defined Synergy infrastructure. It is available to order alongside HPE Synergy Composer, interconnect modules, and compute modules — including the latest HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module built on Intel® Xeon® 6 processors. The earlier Gen10 compute modules are being succeeded by the Gen12 module and remain supported under HPE service coverage.

For a new deployment, it can also be worth comparing Synergy with HPE's latest standalone compute and hyperconverged options:

Overview:

Does your IT infrastructure efficiently combine compute, storage, and networking/fabric resources with intelligence and security to meet your needs of today and tomorrow?

HPE Synergy 12000 Frames are uniquely architected as Composable Infrastructure (CI) to match the powerful 'infrastructure-as-code' capabilities of the HPE intelligent software architecture. Flexible access to compute, storage, and fabric resources allows for use and re-purposing. Linking multiple HPE Synergy Frames efficiently scales the infrastructure with a dedicated single view of the entire management network.

Creating multiple composable domains in the infrastructure can efficiently deliver available resources to the business. HPE Synergy Frames reduce complexity by using intelligent auto-discovery to find all available resources to accelerate workload deployments. This drives IT efficiency as the business grows and delivers balanced performance across resources to increase solution effectiveness.

  • Supports HPE Synergy 480 and HPE 660 Gen10 Compute Modules.
  • A guided installation experience is provided for setting up HPE Synergy.
  • Adds 2650W HVDC hot plug power supplies as an infrastructure option.
  • Product is now offered to comply with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA).

HPE Synergy 12000 Frame: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The HPE Synergy 12000 Frame is a current, actively sold product and remains the foundation of HPE's composable, software-defined Synergy infrastructure. It is available to order along with HPE Synergy Composer, interconnect modules, and compute modules including the Intel® Xeon® 6-based HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module.

HPE has not discontinued Synergy, so there is no direct replacement platform or frame. HPE continues the platform with newer components such as the HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module. For new deployments that do not require composable blade infrastructure, HPE positions HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers and HPE Alletra dHCI as current alternatives.

The frame supports HPE Synergy Gen10 compute modules (Synergy 480 and 660 Gen10) and the current Intel® Xeon® 6-based HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module. The Gen10 modules are being succeeded by the Gen12 module and remain supported under HPE service coverage.
